Recreational Classes

96% of SGA's students do not compete or train to compete.

However, 96% of SGA's students are having a good time while progressing steadily in our recreational class program. Plus, gymnastics is just plain good for your child.

Developed in 1989 at SGA, and revised annually ever since, the American Gymnastics Progression takes children through over 300 skills to the levels they use to be playground hotshots, compete in high school, or just increase their skill level and confidence. When you visit, please ask to see the curriculum cards which track your child's progress. These cards show how each skill leads to the next skill in the major gymnastics progression.

SGA offers a wide variety of recreational classes, ranging from toddler movement to adult classes. Your first stop will be to talk to the Registrars at the front desk. (206-362-7447) or in Spokane (509-533-9646).

Seattle Gymnastics Academy's recreational program exists to provide fun and exciting gymnastics and to promote healthy, active, happy children. Gymnastics benefits everyone. We don't focus solely on the physical strengths and skills for gymnastics, but also strive to instill life lessons of persistence and determination. Our students have fun climbing, tumbling and being upside down, but they also build body awareness, coordination, balance, strength and flexibility; necessary skills to be successful in any of their athletic endeavors.

SGA's recreational mantra is to provide:
Successful
Tools for
Active
Responsible
Self-Confident children.
